(a) There are no NBFC (Non Banking Financial Companies) functioning in the State as per Reserve bank of India records, Sir. | |

Assistance to primary Schools

| (a) Whether the Government has decided to financially assist Primary Schools in the State that hitherto have received no assistance especially in Schooless villages? | (a) Yes, Sir. |

| (b) What is the quantum of help proposed? | (b) Rs.3000/- per month per school. | |
| (c) How many Schools will be assisted? | (c) 1200 L.P. Schools. | |
| (d) When will the grants be released to the Schools? | (d) Release of grants for the months from March 2001 onwards is under process. |
Vehicles with dark glass windows

| (a) Why some vehicles are still plying with dark or opaque glass windows? | (a) Sir, it is a fact that some vehicles are still plying with dark or opaque glass windows. | |
| (b) What action is being taken in the
matter? |
(b) The Police Department and other appropriate authorities have been instructed from time to time to ensure that the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Rules 1989 are strictly enforced. |
Cobalt Unit

| (a) Whether the Civil Hospital has a Cobalt Unit or any other Unit for cancer treatment? | (a) Yes, Sir. |

(b) & (c) Installed in 1989 functioned till February 1997 and is at present non functional. |

| (d) Are technical experts available to
operate the same? |
(d) Yes, Sir. Except Physicist, other technical persons are available. |
Tobacco Smoking

| (a) Whether the Government is aware that Taxi and Bus Drivers and often Passengers still smoke tobacco in public transport inspite of the ban of smoking in public places? | (a) Yes, Sir. |

matter? |
(b) Transport Department have from time to time issued instructions that all transport vehicles' Owners/Operators should prominently write 'No Smoking' in all transport vehicles in English & Local Languages and instruct all drivers & conductors of all these vehicles to ensure that passengers/public strictly adhere to this. |
