Traffic Congestion

The Government is fully aware
of the traffic congestion in Shillong city and measures have been taken
from time to time to ease the traffic congestion. Some of these measures
are :- - Construction of Parking lots within the city area. - Widening of roads where ever possible. - Regulation of entry of heavy vehicles especially to trucks. - Introduction of one-way traffic system and No Parting Zone in very congested areas. - Mobile task force and mobile courts are being taken up to deal with traffic violation. - Traffic weekly review is held to ensure effecting functioning of the traffic system in the city. |
