All the displaced persons who had fled from Block I to
Sahsniang have returned to their respective villages on 23.12.2003.
Government has taken up the matter with the Government of Assam and the
process of dialogue still continues. |

Environmental Sanitation Project (SUWSESP) of Aus AID was meant for study
and assessment of the current field situation of water supply and
sanitation in Greater Shillong area and for making recommendations for
improvements in water supply, sanitation, solid waste management and
drainage sectors, besides taking up some pilot works within the Project's
scope. |

A Committee comprising of 3 (three) Senior Officers of PHE Directorate is conducting a detailed enquiry in Resubelpara Division and inter alia aspects like occurrence of any misappropriation, diversion of fund and responsibility therefore will be looked into by the Committee. |
Land Acquisition Committee

(a) The number of sittings the Land Acquisition
Committee had during 2004 and 2005? |
(a) The Land Acquisition Committee was set up under the land Acquisition (Companies) Rules, 1963, for the purpose of advising Government in relation to acquisition of land for Companies etc., under Part VII of the Land Acquisition Act. Since no such acquisition proposal for companies etc., have been received, the Committee is not functional. Hence the question of the number of sitting of the Land Acquisition Committee had during 2004-05 does not arise. |

(b) The number of permission granted for the land acquisition by the Central Government, Para-Military forces in the State? (c) The name of location, the area acquired and the name of the Agency for which permission for land acquisition was granted? |

Number of Chickens imported to Meghalaya

&Veterinary be pleased to state the number of chickens imported to
Meghalaya from other States monthly? |
Sir, as per Sample Survey conducted by the Department, the State is almost sufficient in Poultry meat production. However, only one day-old broiler chick of those breed which are not available in the State are brought from outside the State. The estimated Nos. is about 26,000 Nos. per month. |
Miscreants and looters at Mawbah

steps the Government had taken in order to apprehend miscreants and
looters who frequent the Graveyards at Mawbah (Barapathar) area? |
So far no complaints have been received by police and hence no case registered. However, regular police patrolling parties from Jhalupara Beat House are deployed round the clock especially at night in the area and whenever any dead body is carried for cremation, Special Police Picket is posted at the cremation ground for the safety and security of the persons attending the cremation till cremation rites are over. |
Sanctioning of the remaining portion of Bridges and Culverts

(d) The Scheme for improvement including Metalling and Blacktopping and construction of bridges on Mustem Iongnoh Chyrmang road was projected under PMGSY Phase-III but the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India did not approve the same. The Department has therefore included the Scheme in the P.W.D. Budget for the current year 2005-06 and estimate for construction of 3 Nos. missing bridges is under Technical scrutiny by the Superintending engineer PWD Roads, Jowai. |

(a) Whether it is a fact that petrol pump dealers are charging the current price for Petrol and petroleum products which are of old stock when there is any Rise in Price of Petroleum? |
(a) Yes, Sir. |

(b) If so, the reason for allowing the petrol pump
dealers to sell the above products at the new price and the profit accrued
therefrom by them? |
(b) Petroleum products are under administrative control of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. It is revised by the Oil Companies as per Government of India decisions and implemented by Petroleum product dealers accordingly. The State Government realise the taxes on the revised prices. |
