(b) Yes, Sir. The Department has taken initiatives to promote various activities such as trekking, caving, watersports, golf, eco-tourism for attracting foreign tourists. Participation in major International Tourism Fairs/marts has also provided an excellent opportunity to promote and market our tourism products in the International arena. |

Development of Water-shed area

develop Water-shed area? |
The Department of Soil & Water Conservation is implementing both the mechanical measures like construction of Head Water Dams, Terraces, Conservation Ponds, etc., as well as the biological measures like establishing of afforestation & Cash Crop Plantation in any of the selected Water shed Areas. As for the policies of developing the Water Shed Areas, the Department strictly follows the guidelines of the scheme sanctioned by the Government of India, right from the time of selection of Watershed Areas upto the time of implementation as well as the post implementation stage of the projects, Sir. |
